Billing Page
The Billing page allows you to view billing items submitted by workers, add billing items, and process items into invoices. Invoices are then compiled for remittance to clients on behalf of suppliers. The clients then remit payments to the MSP to apply to the invoices, or directly to the supplier.
Not all actions are possible at all times, and depend on the status assigned to each billing item or invoice in the application. For more information statuses and the billing workflow, see Billing Process Overview.
You must also have the 'Billing' permission on your user account in order to process billing items, or add billing to an engagement. For more information about this permission, see MSP User Permissions.
- Pending Approval - The billing item needs review by the time & expense approver (required) or approvers configured in a approval routing chain (optional). The MSP and the time & expense approver can modify time allocations for billing items that are awaiting approval.
- Pending Invoicing - The billing item is reviewed by the time & expense approver/approvers, and is awaiting compilation into an invoice. The MSP can modify details for billing items that are awaiting invoicing.
- Rejected - The billing item is rejected. The worker can submit a new time card. Only displays non-resolved items unless the Include Resolved Items check box is selected.
- Saved - Billing items that are saved.
The MSP process for modifying a billing item in both the 'Pending Approval' and 'Pending Invoicing' is identical. For more information about modifying details, see Modify Pending Approval Billing Item.
To view the details of a billing item, click the Line# in the Billing List table. You view this information on the Billing page. For more information about billing, see Billing Page. You can also view the requisition information by clicking the requisition number.
The Invoicing tab allows you to compile billing items into invoices. You can create a standard invoice, that is, an invoice to send to a client organization, and you can create a fee/rebate invoice. You can also consolidate invoices and apply payments when remitted by clients. For more information about compiling a standard invoice, see Create a Standard Invoice.
