Copy From Previous Function
When filling out and submitting timecards (see Add Time), you can copy values from a previously submitted timecard at the week or day level.
When copying timecard values over to a new timecard, consider the following:
- You cannot use the 'Copy from previous' function for time with 'Date Other' selected in the Date Range drop down.
- Timecard values in the 'Saved', 'Pending', or 'Processed' status can be copied over.
- For weekly periods, if the previous week being copied had empty values (day not worked, not time entered for that day, and so on), then the week being copied to reflects the same timecard information.
- If a timecard being copied from has a short week in the period (for example, Monday - Wednesday), the new timecard only displays values for the same saved values (for example, Monday - Wednesday). The other days are left blank.
- The same rule for short weeks applies to new timecards. If the new timecard has a short week (for example, Monday - Wednesday), the saved days that do not appear on the new timecard are not copied over.
- For timecards with holidays, when copying to a new week, the time for a holiday is not copied over to the new timecard (day is left blank).
- Sick days are copied from a timecard over to the new timecard. For example, if sick time is entered on Thursday one week, the new timecard displays sick time for Thursday.
- For monthly timecards, weeks are copied over (first week, second week). Work days are copied over, for example, first work day of the month copied to new month, second day of the month copied to the second day of the month in the new month, and so on.
- - available for all timecards with all work period types.
- - available for Hourly, Mixed, Multi Rate, and Piece/Unit Rate timecards.
