Assign a Candidate to a Request

Assign candidates to a request, creating an engagement. For more information about the action buttons on the Candidates tab, see Candidates Tab.
Note: This action ignores any scheduled interviews that are set up with a candidate.
Note: For engagements with multiple positions, if all of the positions are filled, all remaining candidates are rejected.
Note: The 'Assign' action is only available when configured approvals are completed.
  1. Navigate to the Requests page in the MSP view.
  2. Select the request type by clicking the type button (or ALL).
You can also enter the request number in the search field.
  3. Select the request by clicking the number link in the Request column.
  4. On the Request page, click the Candidates tab.
  5. Click the sub tab for the candidate (depending on the candidate's status).
  6. Click the candidate's name (blue text) in the Candidate column.
If a large number of candidates appear on a sub tab, you can filter the view by using the pagination controls at the bottom of the page, or by using the Search Candidates field.
  7. In the pop-up, confirm the start and end dates for the worker.
  8. Click .
After workers are assigned to the request/engagement, you must set the engagement details. For more information about engagement details, see Staffing Engagements in the System.
Note: If the worker is new in the system, their user account must be manually set up. The application displays a warning icon next to the worker's name if their account is not set up (engagement status='Filled' and Username='null'). To create the user account, click the worker's name (blue text), and then click the Create User Account button. This validates if the worker's account information is complete and correct. For more information about a worker's user account, see User Account.
